Registrations for The Great Day Out at the Farm are coming in thick and fast and we will soon be closing off the standard registrations. There are still some spaces available on some of the "rides" for our generous Premium donors.

This sculpture park is rarely open to the public so if you would like to visit, we would urge you to register now. It really is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a world famous attraction.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

AN UPDATE ON THE GREAT DAY OUT AT THE FARM FUNDRAISER

Now that Christmas is over, available spaces for the NZCPR fundraiser at Alan Gibbs world famous sculpture park are fast filling up with people coming from as far afield as Australia, Canada, and the US.

Several of you have asked if we can provide you with a short, snappy invitation suitable for passing on to friends and colleagues. You can find our suggested invitation below. We recommend you write an introductory sentence in a new email message then copy the invitation below, paste it into your email, and send it on to people on your mailing list that you think would be interested in coming along.

We have been thrilled with the response that we are receiving to our requests for sponsorship – Lanvin Champagne, Dick Frizzell wine, Hallertau Brewery boutique beer, Leighton Smith Clevedon Hills Wine, Paul Holmes Olive Oil… to name but a few! It is shaping up to be a wonderful day so if you intend coming along but haven’t yet registered, I would advise you to do so as soon as you can.

We are also very grateful to those of you who are organising groups to come along and would like to let you know that in recognition of our appreciation for your efforts, we will provide the organiser for every group of 10 a complimentary “ride” – that is a ride in Alan Gibbs Aquada car on the lake, a guided tour of the art works by 4WD jeep, or a helicopter flight over the art and the park - which they can use themselves or pass on to someone else. As you know, this event is a fundraiser so your assistance in helping to make this a success is greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me by return or phone on 09 434 3836 or 021 800 111.

Warmest regards,
Muriel

Here is the invitation:

I would like to invite you to an exclusive fundraising event featuring a world class attraction: THE GREAT DAY OUT at Alan Gibbs Farm

Muriel Newman’s New Zealand Centre for Political Research, in conjunction with Owen McShane’s Centre for Resource Management Studies, is holding this special fundraiser at Alan’s renowned sculpture park on the Kaipara Harbour, on Sunday 28th February, 2010. The Farm features majestic art works from internationally acclaimed artists as well as an eclectic range of exotic animals. Because the park is rarely open to the public we are inviting everyone interested in visiting the park to join us at the Great Day Out.

The gates to the park will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Guests will enjoy free access to the sculpture and the animals, a Lanvin Champagne picnic-style lunch, along with the chance to meet interesting people, share ideas, and hear Don Brash, Sir Roger Douglas, and Alan Gibbs explaining what they would do if they were dictator for a year! Paul Holmes will MC this entertaining session.

In addition, guided tours of the art by jeep, rides in Alan Gibbs’ Aquada car on the lake, and helicopter flights over the farm and surrounds, are also available.

For comprehensive details about the farm, the artworks, the animals, and our generous sponsors, go to:
http://www.nzcpr.co.nz/great-day-out/index.html

This site will also take you through the Registration process.

We hope you will be able to join us for a wonderful day!

A Special Offer for the Great Day Out

As you know, all those who make donations to support the NZCPR's work during 2010 will receive an invitation to attend the Great Day Out at the Alan Gibbs Farm on February 28th.

The Standard Donation to secure the invitation is $250 or more. But donations of $1,000 or more also secure:

* a free ride on the Aquada Car,
* the Guided Art Tour,
* or a Helicopter ride over the Farm.

However, in recognition of the help of those who are organising groups to come along, anyone who puts together a team of ten people making the Standard Donation will also receive a free invitation to one of the special rides.

So the donation for the team of ten will be $2,500 or more but the team host will also receive an invitation to take the ride of their choice as a special $1,000 bonus.

Or they can gift it to one of the team. The donations are tax deductible – unlike a ticket to the tennis or whatever.

Each team of ten gets a bonus ride. So a team of twenty gets two free rides and a team of fifty gets five free rides.

29 October 2009

Those of you who have made your donations in support of the CRMS and the NZCPR will have received an acknowledgment by email. You will have also received a formal receipt, or the receipt is on its way. Donations via Paypal take a few days to work through the system.

We have been asked if the receipt will be needed to present at the gate to guarantee admission to the Farm and to the Art Tour or Rides you may have booked.

The receipt is just that. A record of the donation.

As we draw nearer to the day, those of you who have made their donations will receive a formal email invitation that will provide detailed information about the events of the day, a record of your bookings, and guarantee your access through the gates – which will open at 10.00 a.m. and close at 6.00 p.m.

You will also be given a souvenir folder at the gate.

We shall also be providing information on nearby accommodation for those who want to stay in the area overnight or longer.  If any of you have recommendations based on previous experience please let us know so we pass them on.

Keep checking the web site for updates

And, of course, please make your donation and register for your invitation.

Next week we shall begin posting more details of the rides and tours and the events of the day.

Remember, we can accommodate only very limited numbers on the Premium tour and rides, so it's first come, first served.
